Includes four plants packed in 4" pots for the price listed.  They are ready to plant into the ground upon arrival.  Be sure to keep them well watered while they are getting established.

These oakleaf hydrangeas are a beautiful addition to spring offerings as they are one of the first to flower.  They start out green as in the photos, then turn to a bright red color as they age.  The foliage also turns an amber red color that is great for fall arrangements.  Please note that this plant flowers on second year wood, meaning that if you cut all the foliage back in fall or winter, it will not have blooms.  So unlike the hydrangea paniculatas that get coppiced every year in cut flower production, leave this plant each year and prune selectively.  Or we just cut the blooms we want and leave the rest of the plant for next year's productions.
